"Serving Helps Another & Reaps Enrichment"
Volunteers provide a variety of services for fellow parishioners through this ministry. Informational SHARE brochures are located on the literature rack in the gathering space of the church. Please contact the indicated person if you are in need of one of these services or would like to assist your fellow parishioners through one of these ministries.
Our God is a generous God, blessing us with many gifts — including our time and talent. How can we respond in gratitude to God’s many gifts? How can we use our time and talent to contribute to the building up of God’s kingdom?

Volunteers provide non-medical care and temporary relief (respite) to family members who are caring for a loved one at home and provide reassurance phone calls and/or visits to those who live alone. Confidentiality is upheld for all concerned. Anyone needing these services or wishing to provide them may contact us! If you are comfortable sitting with a person who is ill, just being a kind and trusted presence, or if you wish to call and/or visit those who live alone, these ministries may be for you. Catholic Charities will provide appropriate training to those who provide respite care.

This ministry has provided outreach to those experiencing the loss of a loved one through death. Two 4-week sessions, with a reunion one month later, are provided by the Grief Team each year. A “Moving through Grief” series is held in the spring and the video series “No One Cries the Wrong Way” is held in the fall. Members of the Saint Dennis Circle of Friends provide additional support to families with phone calls, visits and notes/cards for one year.

The Queen of Apostles Mental Health Ministry serves those who experience mental health challenges or other life occurrences which disrupt mental and spiritual wellness. We acknowledge that people who live with mental illness, like any other illness, are deserving of love, compassion, respect, and inclusion. We strive to demonstrate these core principles to those living with mental health challenges and their families/caregivers through companionship, education, support, and prayer.
Meetings are held at St Dennis' Upper Parish Center on the 1st Sunday of the month from 12 noon - 1:30pm. Since a light lunch is provided, RSVP is requested but not required. Registration, meetings. and discussions with team members is kept confidential.

This spiritual ministry invites parishioners to pray daily for the needs of the parish, the world and for individuals who are experiencing problems as well as to pray in thanksgiving for prayers answered. They receive, by mail, a list of prayer intentions monthly. Members receive a certificate, cross and book of prayers when they are commissioned.

Members meet monthly to knit and crochet, in a prayerful manner, warm, comforting shawls. The shawls are blessed when completed and distributed to parishioners in need who are suffering from an illness, a loss or a problem due to advanced age. The shawls provide a tangible way to encounter God’s love and represent the prayers of the caring community of Saint Dennis.

Visit and bring Communion to homebound parishioners and those in assisted living facilities. Frequency depends on the wants of the person. Simple training is provided for those who wish to perform this service.

Saint Dennis offers Communion on Sundays to the residents of local nursing and rehabilitation facilities. Parishioners began providing this service in the 1970s.

This greeting card ministry offers support and encouragement to parishioners because of a hospital stay, nursing home stay, long-term illness, birth or adoption, anniversaries or for those in need of encouragement. When submitting a request, please include the parishioner’s name and address as well as the occasion or need.

Saint Dennis offers Word and Communion (a scriptural prayer service with Communion) to the residents of local nursing and rehabilitation facilities on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3 pm.
